Blessed Sculpture (2017) – Xavier White

A gift to Craftspace during the Radical Craft touring exhibition

Xavier presented us with this piece at the end of the Radical Craft conference as a thank you to the organisation for the exhibition and the opportunities it had brought for the artists.

It has the quote, “Blessed are the cracks for they let in the light”. The piece is reflective of the supportive process we aim to adopt for artists during exhibition development and our work to give voice to the widest range of people.

Nominated by: Exhibitions and Projects Development Manager, Emma D.

To celebrate Craftspace’s 40th Anniversary, we commissioned the artist Stewart Francis Easton to create an artwork which would explore the story of Craftspace through 40 objects. Stewart created a series of four beautiful graphic quilts.
